A MESSAGE FROM MIKE

For too long a time Americans have forgotten what made this country great. For too long we have relied on the government to do for us what we should be doing for ourselves. As individuals we have forgotten how to be self reliant, how to be personally responsible, how to be self motivated and how to exercise the ability to think for ourselves.

We are now at a turning point in our nation’s history. We have been voting for men and women to represent us by how they look, how well they articulate their message and how they promise to take care of our every need. They all blame the other party for the mess we are in and we now need to tax the rich to take care of the less fortunate. It is time for us all to demand that our elected leaders return to the basic values and principles on which our country was founded. We must never forget that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal; they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Our Founding Fathers were clear when they selected these words. Our country was a gift from God and these Rights should never be given away or taken away from the people. All people have a right to life and the freedom to do with their life as they see fit. They also have the right and freedom to achieve or fail without the interference of government.

Today, we have a government who feels they have a duty and the right to protect us from the cradle to the grave. They take our money, our kid’s money and our grandkid’s money to bail out car companies who made bad decisions and are too big to fail. They give our money to banks that are too big to fail. They think we are not capable of taking care of our own healthcare and are taking steps to control one sixth of our nation’s economy. They want to tell us what to think, how to think, what to eat, what to drive, how to educate our kids and the list goes on and on.

Facts are stubborn things. Whether you are Republican, Democrat or Independent, it does not matter. We need to wake up and recognize the problems we face as a nation. Our elected representatives in Washington today do not represent the values and principles that made our country great. Whether they are called progressives, liberals or statists, they all believe the same thing. They know better than you what is best for you. Their sole objective is to control every facet of our lives.

The issues and challenges we face today are overwhelming. We don’t need to reinvent or transform America but to RESTORE America. No one individual can make the changes that are needed. What is needed are Americans like the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence who wrote “with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
